Freedom
Read Isaiah 61:1-2
Jesus came to mend the broken. He came to set all of those who are imprisoned free. That doesn’t mean that Jesus is going to go to the prisons and allow those who have done crimes free. It means that He is going to set us free and mend our broken souls. We are the broken and the imprisoned. We are broken because of the sins that we do. Each time we sin, we add a little more dirt onto our souls. Our punishment for sin is death. But, Jesus came to save us. He came and broke the bondage of sin and death so that way we could be free. He came so that way we could live with him forever in Heaven.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
